My style is balanced training… positive reinforcement through praise with effective communication. When I
work with dogs, regardless of the technique/method, creating confidence and a stronger bond with their pet
parents are the priorities. My passion for training is to help every dog achieve an even better life with infinite
opportunities!
As a little girl, dog posters lined my
bedroom walls, dog figurines filled the shelves, and stuffed dogs were everywhere! I was four years old when
my dad took me to choose his pick of the litter, champion pheasant hunting dog, a Brittany Spaniel named Stinker
(he mistakenly asked me on the drive home what I wanted to name him)! 😊
I was inseparable from my dog,
and when I was old enough and able to accompany my dad on their trips to Kansas and Iowa to “get the birds”, I
learned how a sporting dog operated in the field and grew a fond respect for what a remarkable athlete and
companion a dog could be! I was so proud of Stinker, and my dad for his ability to train and bond with him like
he did.
My passion developed stronger when I adopted the first puppy of my own in 1996, a Black Lab/Blue Heeler mix named Kota. Not only did she begin my profession in dog training, but because of her I moved to Colorado. I wanted to provide her a beautiful place to hike and swim, so with her as my co-pilot, we got in my truck and headed west. It was because of the wonderful gift she gave me that I was even more inspired to help dogs and their people in enhancing each others lives!
In 2002 I adopted my second puppy, a Blue Heeler/Chocolate Lab mix named Kolt and I named my training business after her…”All Ears”! Four years later in 2006 came my third puppy, a Black Lab/Red Heeler mix named Kadyn. When I wasn’t training other dogs... Kolt, Kadyn and I spent our time hiking, swimming and camping all around Colorado, and training and competing in obedience, dock dogs, agility and bird hunting/field trials. In 2016, after we lost Kolt, Kadyn became my service dog and we traveled the U.S. together until she passed away in 2022!
In 2019 I adopted my first purebred puppy from Roscommon, Ireland, a Blue Merle Border Collie named Kammo and yes, she is the smartest dog I have ever had and a pure joy to love! She is happy-go-lucky, enjoys the attention from anyone who makes eye contact and likes to entertain with all her tricks! I couldn’t ask for a better companion!!
I am living the dream! Every day I look forward to the new adventures I will encounter with such amazing people
and their fur covered wonders of unconditional love!”
